How to use Facebook Live as part of your video Marketing Strategy

If you are tired of creating Facebook posts that nobody sees (painful isn't it!) then you NEED to be using Facebook Live and video on your Facebook Page – it’s ‘crackalackin'! You can get ten times the reach of a normal static post by changing and doing a video post.

The two types of video that we're going to be talking about is Facebook Live, (oh my gosh, it is huge, you need to be doing it!) and video posts. I know some people aren't quite up to going live yet and that's cool. You'll get there.

Facebook Live. It is hot to trot! There is no doubt Facebook loves it. You may have even seen ads for Facebook Live around the place.

Why do you want to use Facebook Live?

  1. Like I said, Facebook loves Facebook Live and they're going to reward you for going Live on Facebook by pushing your livestream out into people's newsfeeds.
  2. People are likely to watch your Live stream videos three times longer than just a normal video post. That’s a very important metric to Facebook who sees that longer viewing means it is an engaging video therefore we're going to show it into more people's newsfeeds. That is going to improve your reach and your engagement because also….
  3. People are ten times more likely to comment on a live video. Not only are they watching your lives three times longer, they're ten times more likely to comment. Again, that's an important engagement metric that Facebook looks at and will improve your organic (free) reach long after you've pressed the finish button on your Live Stream.

That's why you need to be using Facebook Live. If you're not confident in it yet, there's a simple hack that you can do. That is, when you put the details in and when you're ready to go live, you'll see that there's a little button just over near your picture and it will say “Public”. If you just tap on that and say “Only me”, then that will show your live only in your newsfeed. How is that? You can practice without worrying about anyone else having to see. It can just go live straight to your newsfeed.

You can have a few practices but promise me, promise me, you won't be hard on yourself. You won't look at it and go, “Oh, I'm no good. I'm just going to give up 🙁 ” Don't do that! Watch it, see how you could make things better and critique yourself constructively and then try again.

Another great hack for practicing would be to create a group with a couple of trusted friends that you can all be in and go live. Therefore, you do have an audience so you can talk to them, you can interact with them, they put comments in, so you can actually get a great feel for what it's like going live and having an audience. They can also go live in the group as well. It's a win-win.

That's another great way to practice going live, is to either do it privately, just to yourself, or create a group with some trusted friends and get the whole experience there.

Facebook Live is a really, really powerful tool for your marketing strategy. It's something that if you're a coach, a consultant, an author, a speaker or if you have a skill or hobby that you're wanting to share with the world, your ‘particular set of skills’, then you need to be doing Facebook Live. You really do!

Another way, to use video in your Facebook Marketing Strategy would be to  do a video post to your Facebook page. That would be where you could record yourself so you can get comfortable in front of a camera (if you’ve got a good camera on your smart phone just start with that), but you have the added bonus of being able to edit it. When it comes to editing, you could just use the simple free tools like iMovie for Macs or Movie Maker on Windows. Nothing big and complex. That's all you need to be able to edit your videos, cut it down to something nice and upload it directly to Facebook – that’s the important part.  Facebook will reward you with greater reach by uploading your videos directly to the Facebook platform (ie. NOT via Youtube) by putting it out into people's newsfeeds, getting greater reach and such.

Now, another option for your video marketing is, instead of doing static image quotes, you can create them in a video with tools such as Ripl.com or Animoto.com.  They're tools that are so easy to use and they can create fantastic, gorgeous looking video graphics that you can put on your page. You will see that you will get a far greater reach by uploading these as videos than just a normal static post.

Facebook Live Video Marketing

I’ve created a Facebook Video Marketing Cheatsheet, which gives you tips on how & why to use Facebook Live and tools that you can use to create a normal video post. In the Cheatsheet, there's an example where there's a static post that had about 119 people reached, and then a Facebook Live that had 1,117 people reached.  That’s an increase of 838%

That is just the kind of impact that using videos in your posts are making. That is massive, free, organic reach.

But wait just a second…. Here’s the kicker…

Facebook is building an audience of everybody who has viewed your videos. Not just one video, not just two videos, all videos. While these are going out into newsfeeds, getting free organic reach, Facebook is building an audience of everyone that's viewed them and that is really powerful. There is nothing like video to build up the know, like and trust factor with your ideal client, or your potential students.

That is a massive win. They're getting to know you, like you and trust you. Then, when you're wanting to do some Facebook ads, you've got a warm audience there already who have watched your videos which is going to reduce your costs to acquire a new lead or customer because you're not targeting cold traffic who don't know you from a bar of soap.  This ‘warm audience’ will be more likely to give you their email address when you ask for it.

So not only are you getting the massive increase in free reach, Facebook's putting all of your videos out there, and building an audience for you!

Oh my gosh, there's just so much gold in Facebook videos at the moment. When you've got a video that has seen massive reach, that has done really well, that people have commented with, you can put just even $1 a day with a Facebook Ad to get it out to a bigger and bigger audience.  Getting people to see your videos and build an audience for pennies!  Which again, will be building an audience that then you can retarget with the next step in your Facebook Marketing Funnel.

If you're not using Facebook Live or Videos already, or you're doing them half-heartedly, you really must to incorporate it into your marketing strategy. You will be amazed at the sudden jump in increase of reach that your page will get and the engagement that will come. It really will breathe some life into your Facebook page. You're going to love it!

3 things I’ve learnt in generating over $2 million dollars with Online Courses

Now, you probably think to make over $2 Million in Revenue selling online courses, my clients are big-gun online marketers….

Let me just tell you now, they are not.  You don't have to be a big guru with a huge marketing budget. One of the keys to having a profitable online program is to start where you are with what you've got.

By implementing the 3 strategies below and consistently put in the time and effort, you too have the potential to make a very generous living selling your online program to a global audience.   We're in a happy, happy place in time right now with technology that is available to us.

Pro-tip #1: Facebook Ads

One of the keys I've learned for my clients creating $2 million in revenue with their courses is to know how to produce converting Facebook ads. Facebook are an ATM Machine (yes I know that means Automatic Teller Machine Machine – but that's what we say right!).

My clients have generated these sort of sales just using Facebook ads. That's the kind of results you can get when they are done right. When they're done wrong, well that’s when people say, “This doesn't work, I give up!” My advice to you is: don't give up!  Keep testing and trying!

Where many people fail with Facebook ads, is that they don't know their audience.  This is ESSENTIAL to your business – full stop!  You need to know your audience.  And when you do, and you do your data mining in Facebook, then you're on track for some sweeeeeeet, low cost, high converting Facebook ads that bring in sales.   You need the right audience – which you have because you've done your research on Facebook, you know where they're hanging out and you target your ads to them.

Another part of successful Facebook ads is the right message. You got the right audience, and then you need to have the right message that's going to be speaking to them. So that your Facebook ads are resonating to them, it's identifying the problems, it's identifying solutions for their problems and it's striking a chord with your potential students. The right audience and the right message are two of the KEYS for successful Facebook ads.

Pro-tip #2: The “Landing Page”

Now, when you're investing in Facebook ads you're going to be sending the people who ‘click' on your add to another web asset (like your website_ to take further action.  In the case of online programs, a very effective strategy is to send traffic to a Landing Page.  This is a page specifically designed to offer the potential student a sliver of information from your online program that want to know – therefore give you their email address in return for that information.  You don’t want to be sending them straight to your homepage, you don’t want to be sending them to some sort of random page where there are multiple things to click on and take their focus away from the action you want them to take.  Also your landing page needs to reflect the ad they clicked on that sent them there.

It's like you've got on a plane to Thailand.  When you arrive, you expect to see Thai writing on the wall when you get there.   If you get off the plane and see Swahili written all over the wall you're going to turn around, get back on the plane and go talk to the captain!   That's the same sense of expectation we want with our Facebook Ads to our Landing Page.  It's got to have the same ‘ad-scent’. When people look at your ads and click the link on your ad, they need to go to the page that reflects your ad. It's got to have the same sort of image, it's got to have the same headline, it's got to compliment what's being said on the ad so that when they get there it is a natural progression. The ads pique their interest and the landing page is where they're thinking, “Yep, I just want this information.”

So you need a landing page that compliments your ad with one call to action. You've got to be precise and you've got to be clear, that's why you don't want to send people to a home page or another page that's got all widgets and banners down the side, or ads and banners all over the top (unless you're sending your audience to a blog post  – like this 🙂 ).  Your potential students are thinking, “What do I do? I don't know what to do, I'm outta here” and they bounce off your site and back to Facebook. So have a clear call to action – clear and concise. You can just copy the headline over from your ad, copy the image over from your ad, and then just have a couple of bullet points.

Another thing to keep in mind, is millions of people only ever access Facebook on their mobile device, so make sure your website is mobile friendly.

That's why we keep it short, and when they have gone over to the landing page on the mobile, there's not a lot of scrolling, not a lot of things to look at, it's right there in front of them. ‘Tap, here's my email address, give me the information”. That's the next part, the third part that is a key for profitable online course, is the follow up series because really, the percentage of people that come over to your site and are ready to buy for the first time is really, really low, like 1%.  People that don't know you from a bar of soap generally aren't really ready to pull out their wallet and spend $500 or $1000 on a product.

Pro-tip #3

One of my clients generated $350,000 in sales in just seven weeks, selling a $997 info product. Not bad numbers hey? Now, do you think all of those sales came from straight off the bat on the first visit or direct from their webinar? No.  This is where Email Marketing comes into the equation.

Your email campaigns are where so many of your sales are going to be coming from because emails provide you with an opportunity to build up a relationship with your potential students.  They'll sign up for something that piques their interest – ‘Okay, great, you've got some information that can help me solve this problem, I want to know more about it!’  So they sign up and but there’s a voice in their head saying, “Okay, so why should I trust you? Why should I invest my money into you? Why should I listen to you?”

That is where your Email series can help provide value (even though I'm really disliking that term at the moment. Everybody is out and they're saying, “Provide value, provide value” and lot of people are saying, “Well what is value? How do I provide value? Break it down for me.”) Providing value is giving them information that's going to help them solve a problem or achieve a solution to their problem. That's one of the ways that you can provide value.

Again, it's knowing your potential students, that through your email series you can speak into them.  That's where you're bringing information to help them, establishing a relationship, building the know, like and trust factor. It's such an important part of a profitable online program.

From there it's a natural progression.  People will start to see you as an authority, they will start to respect, they will start to trust you. Then, when you offer them a solution with your paid course, they're more likely to say, “I’m in!”.   You've given them a free offer from the landing page and then you've developed that relationship, and your authority through your email marketing.

From there, that's when sales will generate and really kick off and you will be building up a tribe of ambassadors who know you and love your program and then when you have another program to release, they're the first in line to get it from you. They’re raving to their friends about the difference that your course has made in their life.

So that is the three keys that I've been using, continually learning and tweaking to achieve over $2 million in sales with my clients and their online programs. Yes, Facebook ads are powerful! No doubt about it! But, before you invest into them, you need to have your landing page set up, you need to have your email series in order.  Otherwise if you're just doing the Facebook ads without these other pieces in place, you're not going to get such effective sales coming from them. It's part of that system.  You need a system in place to be able to promote your online course.

I do actually have a free infographic that helps map it all out for you. You can go to…

…to get your copy to download.  That's going to help you get a visual like, “Okay, so these are the steps I need to do to create a Facebook Sales Funnel.” From there that is the foundation to putting this all together to get your online sales system working like a machine for your online courses.

Click here and grab that free flowchart to help you get that visual, and map it all out, and then think of how can this apply to your business, where can you improve it? Improve your landing pages, improve your email marketing, and from there, finding your audience, getting your message to your audience, honing in on where they are and what are their pain points. That's when you're going to start to see awesome results from your marketing efforts for your online programs.

Get Your Sales Funnel Up and Running in Four Steps

Sales funnels…Ahhh!!

They can be so confusing for so many people. They start to create a funnel and before they know it they're drowning – trying to figure it all out and forgetting about what they do best which is getting their information out and finding students and teaching people.

Sales funnels are something that can be scaled up and systemized as your business grows.

I want to show talk to you about a system today, that you can start now if you're just starting out or if you're already making some good money with your online program or service. Now, this is the same system that people who are selling online courses that are getting six, seven figure incomes, even eight-figure incomes, use as a foundation for their sales funnels. It's a beautiful thing!

You're not restricted by where you are in your business with sales funnels.

Isn't that awesome? You can play the same game that the big boys are playing. Set it up now, automate it and tweak it as your business grows.

Let’s talk about the steps needed to get your sales funnel up and running. Grab a pen and paper and jot these down…

First step is your domain which you may already have.  I’ll just explain a little for those who don’t…  For me, my domain is jodymilward.com. Your domain and your website are super important things. How you set them up in your funnel is crucial as well. What I actually recommend is using WordPress as your blog, because that's great for putting your content up, putting your knowledge out there every week or so, getting your message out, and it's got great SEO capabilities which helps to draw in free traffic to your website (and we all say “yay!”)

A lot of people might say, “Oh, I'm looking at using Squarespace or Wix for my website,” Those formats template your whole sit and reduce your SEO which again, is  why I say WordPress for your SEO and for your blogging.

Second step –  we're going to be creating a landing page with ClickFunnels.  I do love Clickfunnels because it’s so much more than just a landing page.  You can create landing pages, resource pages, shopping cart, payment processor, even delivery for your lead magnets, which makes it so streamlined. That's just a heap of less tools and programs that you need to worry about. You can just keep focusing on getting your content out, finding potential students, and turning them into paying students.

Your landing page is going to have a fabulous offer your potential student can’t resist – so they will give you their email address in return for your information.  This is what we call a “Lead Magnet”

Now, since you have your potential student’s email… guess what???

Yes – you email them!

Your emails are a really important part of your funnel, so you're going to want a really credible email provider that's going to be able to grow with your business. For this I recommend ActiveCampaign. They have excellent tagging capabilities and the base price is about what you’d pay for Mailchimp (which can’t do all that Active Campaign can)

Okay, so to build our Sales Funnel (our system to get potential students and turn them into paying students)  we start with our domains, we then have  our landing page and on our Landing page we have our lead magnet, which we give in exchange for their email, which we start to build trust with our potential students via emails.

Once we've got all those things set up and in place, then we go over and connect it all with our Facebook page.

I know a lot of people are out there trying to promote their business on Facebook. It can take a little work. It takes a lot of work doing all those social posts and interacting with people and such. A lot of people get tired before they start seeing any great results. That could also be because they haven't set up the sales funnel in place, they haven't got their lead magnets together, and they haven't got this whole system streamlined and working for them.

Once you've got your lead magnet, your landing pages, your email delivery all in place, that's when you hook it up to your Facebook page and that, that, my friends, is when you really see funnels working for you. That's when you can start driving traffic from Facebook's highly engaged audiences, highly targeted audiences, straight to your lead magnet so you can turn potential students into paying students. That's what we want. People who are hungry and wanting to learn from you. That's when we start getting the profits coming in.

What I do now is I help online course creators get their message heard. I create their sales funnels and emails and Facebook ads and such. I've been doing that for years now. I know how to put it all together, all the key pieces that you need right now to get your message heard, to start promoting your course, to be getting in those potential students. I have all this information which I'm wanting to get out to you because that's what I'm passionate about. I want to help you get your message heard, to get your course out there that can transform not just your life, not just your family's life, but all your students and their families and their friends. The impact that you can have by getting your course out there, just by getting a simple sales funnel together, is massive. It's massive. That's what I want to do. I want to help you get that all together.

I've got a infographic of what I've just gone through with the steps in the funnel because so many of us who are creative, like to see a visual, don't we? I've put that together for you in an awesome infographic for you to download, print off, refer to it as you plan your first funnel.  Here’s your link:

Once you’re able to see it, you’ll see a Sales Funnel doesn’t have to be overwhelming at all.

There's just a few hurdles that, if you haven't done it before, can be overwhelming, but I've also got a solution to help you get through that as well.

I hope that you're inspired, that you think, “Okay, a sales funnel. I'm not quite sure what that is, but I'll have a look and I'll give it a go.” If you give it a go then you are on track to creating a product and a program and a lifestyle that you love.

How To Design & Create A High Converting Sales Funnel For Your Online Courses Even If You Have No Tech Skills

Hi. If you're an online course creator and you're overwhelmed at all the tech side of
promoting your course or how to get your message out there, or how to get people to
buy from you, then this is what you're going to want to learn today.

People get a bit overwhelmed and tend to run in the opposite direction when we talk
sales funnels, but that's what we're going to be talking about today, right?

What I want to do is to help reduce the overwhelm for you when it comes to sales funnels.

Some people don't like that word. They go “Sales funnels, that's not very relational. Oh!”

You're in business, you're in business to make sales. Where the relationship comes in
with people who will be your students one day, we hope, is through the
sales funnel.

What the sales funnel do is that actually is an avenue to build that know, like and trust
factor, because at the moment, you've got this great program, this great course that
nobody may know about or a very few people know about, and you need to get it at
them.

Let's Talk About Lead Magnets

They need to know about you. That's the first step in the funnel, is getting them
to know you.

There's a few aspects to a funnel, and that first tip are lead magnets. A lead magnet is
where you provide something of great value to your potential student that
they're going to want.

They're going to give you their e-mail address in exchange for this information. I
don't know if you've got the new Facebook page layout. That's just been
released globally. It's been out in a few countries for a little while, but
globally it's just really kicked off.

Facebook, finally enough, as it does, has changed things up again. Now, our Facebook
pages are allocated in the tabs. There'll be a tab there for videos, a tab for posts, and
such. It's not just scrolling of who.

Again, that just highlights the importance of getting people's e-mail addresses, because
Facebook could do anything to your page at any time.

It could even go missing.

It could be deleted.

You need to get people's e-mail addresses, and that's the first step in the
funnel where people get to know you and they provide their e-mail address in
exchange for a great piece of information that they're looking for.

Ideally, the lead magnet, people also go, “How do I create a lead magnet? What would a
lead magnet be? What would I do?”

A great pro tip when it comes to lead magnets is that it's aligned with your core
offer.

Say, you do CrossFit, and you've got a program about CrossFit Training, the actual
physical exercises. Don't make your lead magnet about diet, because you're talking
about diet, and then in your core offer you're talking about physical exercises.

Keep your lead magnet consistent and have it splinted down from your core offer that it's
going to be talking about exercises as well.

Keep it consistent to the program that you want to be selling to your
students. That's where we start. That's where people get to know you, and that
starts building the relationship, it starts building the trust.

Once you've got their e-mail, you deliver them that lead magnet that's got the great information that's
going to help them transform their life just that little bit. Overcome a burden or whatever it is
that's keeping them awake at night or a problem that they want to solve.

You're giving them that information and they're going, “Wow! I love what this person had to say. They're in
authority in this area. I'm going to listen to them.” You deliver them your lead magnet.

Follow Up With An E-mail Series

The next step is you're going to be following up with e-mail series. In this e-mail series,
you're going to be developing the relationship and also giving them some extra great
information about other areas that they might be stuck in.

This e-mail series will again provide value to hem, help them overcome their pain point, but also build that
relationship, build trust. After you've sent them an e-mail or two, that's when you can
introduce them to your core offer, “Hey! If you loved this information, this lead magnet,
you're going to love my program Great Abs for CrossFit Trainers.”

I don't know. Great abs would be awesome. Wouldn't it? Yeah!

Introduce your core product to them and get them to transition over. Give them some
information about what's in the core product and warm them up that way.

The sales funnel and the lead magnet is the start of the relationship between a person who
doesn't know you at all, to someone who's going to be a raving, raving students, who's
going to be telling other people about your program and products.

I know a lot of people get caught in the tech and they overwhelm. You've got a fantastic
program, but you're just lost in the world of tech, there's WordPress, and there's all the
plugins that go … 20,000 WordPress plugins that go with it.

Then there's how do you deliver the course. Then there's your check out. Then there's your landing pages. Then,
like we said, e-mails. How do you organize all of that?

That's where I want to help you. I've helped business owners sell their products online
that have generated multiple six figures. I know a bit about what I'm talking
about here.

I've worked at the backend and I know the tech stuff, and I know how I can reduce the
overwhelm for you. There's just a couple of tools that you need to invest in, and they're
not expensive tools.

Some people might look at one of these tools, say, for example, ClickFunnels. I love
ClickFunnels. It does it all. You can get started with that for just$97. That's a sideline
thing.

If you're running an online business, you need to put so
me money into it. What people will do is they'll spend $20 a month on these two, and then
another $20 a month on this one, and another $20 a month on this one.

Then you got three different things going on that band-aids, sticking all these things together. Whereas just if you invest in
just one tool that ends up being that same price, it just streamlines it.

You can get your courses up and running and sold in as little time as possible. That's
what we want. We don't want you to be banging your head against every wall going,
“Oh! Should I use this tool? Should I use this plugin? Should I use this platform?” You
want to get your programs up and running so that you can just start promoting them.

Get them out to your potential students and get your message heard.

If you would like to talk more about sales funnels, if you want to talk about the online
systems that you need to get your programs up and running online and how to sell
them, we talked Facebook ads, we talked about sales funnels, then I would
love to invite you and join me in my academy. It's jodymilward.com/group.

There, we have a Facebook group where you'd be able to come in and you
can ask questions about things that might be holding you up, getting you stuck and getting your
message out there.

Say, you've got a problem, a landing page. That's another thing that
you need to have in the funnel. “What do I do with a landing page? It's not converting.”

This is a place where you can come in and ask and get help and see what's going on. I'd
love to have you there. I'll put the link in this post as well, in this live.

If you've got any questions at all, below, type them in, and I'll be looking at these in the
next day or so. I'll be able to come back to you and answer any questions that you have
about Facebook funnels. How to get your ads going to the start of your funnel to build
up that know, like and trust factor and get your message out there.

I'm Jody from Goldilocks Academy, and I love helping online course creators
get their marketing just right. Thanks for joining me today and I look forward to talking
to you next time.

How To Leverage Facebook’s New Page Engagement Audience To Rapidly Grow And Scale Your Business – Part 2

HOPE MARKETING

Ever heard of hope marketing? You know the kind where ya' pays ya' money and ya takes ya' chances? Most of us marketers have and it almost always ends in failure.

You must have a strategy when it comes to promoting your products and/or services using Facebook advertising.

So, if you're just randomly sending ads out saying buy this, buy this, hoping they will come back and by, then that's really not the smart way to be doing your Facebook ads. That's “hope marketing” Instead, you need to have a strategy in place.

SALES FUNNELS

That's where sales funnels come in. You may have heard of that before. You may not have heard of that before, but what it basically is, is just getting a strategy together.

Having a plan together of how you're going to be getting your online leads and sales. Watch the video or continue to read below:

Whether that is through paid Facebook ads or whether it is just working on things organically, which does take a really long time, by the way. You really do want to get into Facebook ads.

But before you do, you want to have this strategy setup so that when people people do start coming into your funnel, they will be aware of what the next step is.

They'll know whether they're going to opt in for something, and then they are on your email list and then you can keep contacting them. You're not just relying on paid traffic.

Sales funnels are a really, really critical part of an online business. That is what takes business owners from just having a hobby to actually having a business where you can start seeing leads, where you can start seeing sales come in.

It can be more of a predictable income stream as well instead of just hit and miss. It's a really, really vital part of the puzzle. I know there is so many bright, shiny objects.

I got into online marketing years ago. I wasn't always into online marketing and sometimes I wish I wasn't because there is a lot to it. It can mess with your head, but when I started it years ago, there were so many options.

There was so many platforms and so many tools, it was like, okay, let's put an eBook out. It was like, okay, how do we sell it. What's our platform, where do we go, what sort of website do we need.

Because of so many options it was overwhelming and confusing. That is where a lot of online entrepreneurs can get stuck by trying to figure out all the platforms, by trying to figure out the best way to do things.

As I've been working with business owners and helping them with their sales funnels, I've really seen that there is a really streamlined approach that you can do.

That is what I want to help business owners to achieve. They can streamline the process so that they don't have to get caught up in all these different platforms that are going on.

They can just focus on what they do for their business and have a simple, simple system that they can tweak and refine.

You're not going to get it right on the first go but you can tweak things along the way very easily yourself.

Don't have to worry about going to any web developers any more. That is just a costly thing and also you're at their mercy. It could take two weeks to get something changed on your website.

NEW TOOLS HAVE MADE THINGS A LOT EASIER FOR NON-TECH PEOPLE TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY

Just simple tools and strategies that you can use and apply to get your message out there and get it heard by your ideal clients is what you need. Your followers are going to resonate with you and resonate with your message. Those people that you want to serve and help.
Very simple streamlined tools and systems. They can be put on autopilot.

Once you've adjusted them and got things going then you can scale off. That's when you can start putting more money into Facebook ads and the systems are already there and in place for you to just be able to go, okay, I'll spend an extra $20.00 today on Facebook ads.

More sales and leads come in without you having to do any extra work. It's automated and it's scalable, which is what we want.

As online entrepreneurs, we want things to be automated, we want things to be scalable. It's so doable and it's so simple.

When people who are just starting out with an online business ask me “What should I use for my website?”  I have one word for them

Clickfunnels.

This software is a game changer for people who want to build an online business.  Say ‘bye bye' to expensive developers, complicated coding and band-aids to stick a multitude of platforms together.

This program puts a whole Sales Funnel together from Landing Page, to checkout and then delivery of your online program (if you have one and if you don't already, plan to do one!)

It's the program I use for clients with 6 figure ad budgets and multiple 6 figure revenues.

But don't let that intimidate you.

Like I said it's SUPER easy to get up and running with a simple sales funnel and then you can scale it like crazy when you're ready.

Here's a link for you to check out Clickfunnels for yourself – it's a 14 day FREE trial so you could even be getting sales before your trail ends.

I'll be FB Live at 9am Thursday (Qld time) / 3pm Wednesday PT where I'll be talking more about Sales Funnels and how to use them to bring in leads and sales in your business.  You'll be able to watch and ask me any question you may have about your funnel.  Here's the link to join me  https://www.facebook.com/JodyMilwardbiz/

How To Leverage Facebook’s New Page Engagement Audience To Rapidly Grow And Scale Your Business – Part 1

Excellent news!

Drum roll!

Facebook has just launched the new Page Engagement Audience, and this is a game changer, and today I can’t wait to share with you how you can take advantage of this new feature to grow and scale your business.

On the other hand, we're also going to be talking about whether or not you're ready to do Facebook Ads. Watch the video or read more about Page Engagement Audience below:

I love helping business owners get their online marketing just right. So, today, like I said, amazing news that has come out from Facebook. If you are an online marketer, or if you know someone who has an online business that they're wanting to get up and running, share this with them.

Feel free to share this out there.

You are going to love this information, particularly about the new custom audiences of Page Engagement. It is huge. It is a huge opportunity for businesses. That's what Facebook does, really well, is that they are always refining, they're always tweaking.

There is no greater place that you can get a more targeted audience than on Facebook.

They are doing great things for us as business owners. It is in their best favor to provide such a great platform to advertisers and businesses who will spend money with them to make money.

That's what we're all about here. We're not just wanting to gamble on our Facebook ads, we're wanting to have a strategy, which leads to the 2nd part of today's topic.
We're going to be talking about are you even ready to do Facebook ads. Feel free to share.

First topic is the new Facebook.

You would go into your Ads Manager to audience, custom audience, then it will be the bottom one that says Page Engagement. It will be a blue box around it that says “New”. Not everybody has this yet but it's exciting for those who do. Because, this is a great, great way to re-target a warm audience.

Now, we're going to be creating warm audiences that we can re-target to.
Re-targeting is huge, okay? Re-targeting is a game changer for businesses and it gets your prices right down when you're targeting to warm audiences.

Warm audiences are people that already know you and are a step closer to you than those opting in or to purchasing your product.

These are people who have visited your page, so that's awesome, because a lot of people … They'll come check you out, visit your page and then never come back in. This is an opportunity to get back in front of them.

It will also include people who have engaged with any of your posts or ads. If you've done ads before and you've done maybe conversion ads or like ads, or even post-engagement ads, where people have maybe just clicked, shared and moved on. This is a great way that you can get back in front of them.

Previously, they were just gone and lost. Now you can get back in front of them.

You can also include audiences that have clicked on any call of actions on your site, so you know on your page. So, if you've got a button that says, sign up, join, whatever, learn more. These people that have already expressed an interest in your ad, will be able to get re-targeted with your ads.

Also, people who have messaged your page. That can be huge because a lot of pages are getting a lot of messages. People are clicking and just sending request because it's quicker than emails, isn't it?

If they send off an instant message to your page, they are expecting a reply. A lot of pages get a lot of messages. You're able to target this audience in your ads as well. It's phenomenal.

People who have saved any of your page posts. So, if you've got content that you're putting over on your page from other pages and people have saved that for later, that's also going to be in your audience.

The new Page Engagement Custom Audience is a fantastic feature for marketers. That's something that you really want to get onboard with.

So, before we even go there, we need to ask, are you actually ready to do ads?

While this is all great and exciting and everyone in business knows that Facebook is where you need to be because that is where the people are, more than any other platform.

When they're standing in line at the bank.

When they're traveling at home from work on the bus.

They're on their phone and most likely they're on Facebook checking in to see what their friends are doing. That's when you've got an opportunity to get in front of them.

Now, I've got a little story with regards with that and the re-targeting. So, it does all tie in with our Page Engagement Audience. My husband's parents have just come up. We live at the coast and they've come up for a couple of days.
She said, “I was looking up hotels, motels up here OF where to stay and I clicked on one and the next thing you know, I'm seeing ads for this Holiday place that I'd just clicked on.

They're following me around, how did they know my information?” It's like, they don't really know your information, but the cookies, or whatever it is, knows your IP address and knows that you've visited their site.
So, they're re-targeting to you which is awesome. That's what our new Page Engagement Audience takes that to a whole new level.

That power of re-targeting to people who have seen your ad and then you're standing out to them again, even more. I'm sure all of us have seen these at this stage.
That used to just be available to the big boys, okay. But, anyone can do it. Anyone can do it now. You know, right?

Superbowl … Huge. 114 million viewers. It's like, that is mind boggling. For a 30 second ad for Superbowl, it cost five million dollars. That's huge money.
So, Doritos, or whoever it may be, spend five million dollars for a 30 sec ad to 114 million people which might include the 90 year olds who don't have teeth to chew the Doritos with, or something. It's just out there. It's a brand awareness that's going to a huge audience, it's not all your ideal client.

Now, Facebook … You can do video view ads to increase your brand awareness as well.
Target your ideal audience for just one cent. You can get one cent video views. How massive is that? You can just spend one cent getting to your ideal client and get a huge reach. You don't have to be spending big bucks on Facebook ads to get your brand known and to increase your leads and sales.

But, if you don't have a strategy in place, if you don't have a system in place then you are just gambling with your Facebook ads. With the money that you're putting in, you don't know what you'll get back because you don't have a system.
So, if you're just randomly sending ads out saying buy this, buy this, hoping they will come back and by, then that's really not the smart way to be doing your Facebook ads. You need to have a strategy in place.

Why Your Facebook Ads Don’t Convert & 3 Things You Need To Do To Fix It!

3 KEYS TO ADS V1 Crayons

“I’m starting to realise how important copywriting is in my Facebook Ads”

…is an all too often comment from entrepreneurs with a product or service they are wanting to promote.

I know first hand just how awesome Facebook Ads are…

really awesome.

I've done Facebook Ad Campaigns for clients which have resulted in 10,000 leads and $350,000 in sales, built 7 figure businesses and seen 10x return on investment (ROI), heck even  5,500x ROI using the power of retargeting ads (but we'll leave that for another post).

But I also know if you have crappy copy, your Facebook Ads are not going to convert – or if they do, you will be paying a higher cost per click.

Trust me.  I’ve been there and done that.  I haven’t invested the time to write and rewrite ads, tweak headlines, test and test again and the results have been like a black firecracker in the night sky.  There’s been an excitement and expectation of something spectacular happening – hundreds of conversions for just pennies and sales galore… but *poof* money up in smoke and nothing to see.

You’re left with your jaw hanging, staring at your screen.

Then you kinda get over it and end up writing something like “I got what you want, just click the button and gimme your money.  Now.”

(ok, maybe now quite so abrupt, but you’ve thought it haven’t you…. Or maybe it’s just me….)

But the words you use in your Facebook Ad – every single word – are vital to the success of your campaigns and the profitability of your business.

The better your copy converts, the more you sell.

Simple huh?

Sure, your ad creative (image, video etc) is really important too but this post is about copywriting. Using words that pique the interest of the reader, prick their pain point, and promise a light at the end of the tunnel bring in profits.

I’m sure you have a fabulous product or service that will help be a solution for someone’s problem and improve their life in some way.  I love it!  But if you don’t get your message heard and sales in, then you aren’t going to help anybody and that is tragic for you and the hundreds or even thousands of people you could be serving.

So how do you write better copy in your Facebook Ads?

Well this where the private investigator in me comes out a bit.  You gotta spend sometime researching….

1. KNOW Your Ideal Client.

If you’ve done the hard yards to put a program together or committed to providing a service, I would think you would have a good idea of who your ideal client is.  But sometimes, we need to take some time to refocus on our client and get really specific.

“I sell weight loss services to women” is kinda broad.  I mean your 22 year old single lady with no kids is less likely to engage to the message that you would give to a 43 year old mother of 3 (like me)

So that may just mean instead of having 1 ideal client avatar, you may have 2, 3 or more.  So take the time to research each avatar you’ll be targeting.  Come up with a name, where they live, career, kids, even print a picture of your ideal client to really bring it home.

If you have clients already, have a look at their Facebook Profiles.  Depending on the security permissions they have set, you may be able to see what Facebook Pages they like and get more information about their interests and where they are hanging out online.  This information will really help you when it comes to targeting the audiences you will serve your ads to as you can explore deeper with Audience Insights.

2. Know What Your Ideal Client WANTS.

One of the keys to copywriting that converts is to not write about yourself though at surface level that is how it looks.  What you’re really writing about is the reader – answering their questions and offering a solution.  Remember, you’re client doesn’t particularly care about you (sorry to bring you the harsh news!), they are thinking “What’s in it for me?”

Write copy that speaks to the reader’s feelings, desires, dreams and fears.  Tony Robbins said “Emotion is the force of life, it’s what drives us” and it’s certainly what drives your ideal client to click on your ad.

So how do you find out what they want?

Facebook groups are a fantastic place to start.  Find groups where your ideal clients are hanging out and listen to what they are saying.  What questions are they asking?  What pain points are they wanting to solve?  Depending on the group rules, you may also be able to ask strategic questions to help you better serve your clients – current and future ones.

So use the priceless information from Facebook groups as a framework to write the copy for your ads.  What positive change can you bring to your reader to help solve their problem?  Focus on that rather than the actual product or service.

3. Headlines Are KING!

According to Copyblogger, 8 out of 10 people will read your Headline but only 2 out of ten will read the rest of your copy.

Wowzers…..

So if you don’t have a Headline that makes someone tap on the screen and stop scrolling, then you’re in the Newsfeed Whitewash….

So armed with your Client Avatar and the questions from Facebook Groups you have an arsenal of ideas to craft a killer headline.

For inspiration to put it all together, check out Amazon and look at books that align with what you are offering.

What…more research?!

Yup

Book reviews are a goldmine for creating copy that converts.  People who loved the book often seem to provide excited statements which feature the benefits they have received from the book.  Also negative comments can also help to address issues which you can counteract in the copy you write for your product.

Be sure to also test the length of your headlines.  AdEspresso tested thousands of Ads and suggests that Headlines with only 5 words convert the best.

“If I had more time, I would have written you a shorter letter”

Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain are some of the people who have been attributed to this quote.  It is a Copywriter’s golden rule and especially when it comes to Facebook ads as you have just seconds to capture the reader’s attention with a catchy headline and stimulate just enough interest to get that click.

I know it can be hard to get your creative juices flowing sometimes.  That's where it's great to look at and model what is already working for top online marketers bringing in 6 or 7 figures from their Facebook Ads.   So if you're needing some inspiration, click the image below to steal my Swipe File

How To Get Free Fans On Your Facebook Page

How To Get Free Fans On Your Facebook Page

How To Get Free Fans on your Facebook Page?! from Jody Milward on Vimeo.

So you've got a really engaging post on your page that is getting great engagement and interaction. Aside from saying “At last!”  what are you going to do with all those people who Liked your post?  Just let them scroll off into the News Feed never to be seen again?

In this little “How To” video, I show you how you can turn those casual Likes into Page Fans – for FREE!

Building up your ‘Likes' on your Page has nothing to do with being popular.  Social Proof is very important.  Who would you rather do business with?  Someone with 74 Page likes, or someone with 350 or 3500 Page Likes.

Also when you are wanting to promote with Facebook Ads, you will often find it is cheaper to promote to your Facebook Page Audience (which is a warm audience) rather than cold audience you have no relationship with.

Give this a try on your Facebook Page.  I'd love to know your results.  Join my private Facebook Group and let me know how it worked for you.  Just click on the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/GoldilocksAcademyMastermind/

Have you claimed the Facebook web address for your page?
When you create a Facebook Page, it is given a URL something like facebook. com/27862354872683 (a series of numbers).  You need to allocate a specific Facebook URL or Facebook Web Address to ensure your Page is easily found so it will say facebook. com/yourpagename

In this video I show you just how to do that – because you want people to find your FB Page right?!

So be sure to check your Facebook Page and claim the Facebook Web Address you want for your page!
